Taliabo evangelist missing...

We have received some disheartening news regarding a Taliabo evangelist, Petrus. He was missing after a mid-sea collision with a large ship (that fled the scene) 2 nights ago. A police search of the waters has not been successful. We hold out hope that he was somehow able to swim to a nearby island and pray to that end. Petrus is almost like a son to Kyla and Darryl (current missionaries working with Taliabo), and was called “kakak” (older brother) by their children while growing up in the tribe. He was escorting two motorcycles, a specially-built airstrip lawnmower, and food supplies back to the tribe which Darryl needed for his next trip interior.

At this time NTM is looking to fly the helicopter over this morning to conduct search and rescue. Other possibilities are to send some guys over to check it out by plane/boat, but that might not be as time efficient.

Please pray during this uncertain time. His wife is expecting their fourth child any day now…
