life is About to Change!

Our Journey to Indonesia Begins…
_____________________________________________

Can you believe this Monday we fly out to Indonesia? This is the question that I ask myself almost daily. After 2 years of Bible school, 1 year of specialized missions training, 1 year of Linguistics training, 10 months visiting family/friends/churches saying good bye and watching God raise a body of believers who stand behind us in prayer, finances, and encouragement as we prepare to move overseas. As we look back to what it took to get us to this point, sometimes it seemed like this day would never come! But now the time to leave finally draws near…

I’m sure you can understand the wide range of emotions that go with these final days. A lot of people have been asking, “Are you exited?” Well, it’s kind of a mixed bag. Mostly we feel very exited. This is what we’ve wanted to do for a very L O N G time. On the other hand our minds think of stress, culture shock, sickness, failure, relationship struggles, lack of finances, missing family & friends etc. Another part of us just has a hard time wrapping our minds around what’s happening and kind of thinks we’re not really leaving at all and just lives life day by day.

But in the end we continue to have a confidence that we are in God’s will in reaching the lost. Overall having a sense of peace from God, and knowledge of his continuing, faithful presence with us. The Bible says, “The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” (Deuteronomy 31:8)

We have many praises from these last few months! We’ve seen God provide our family with visas in record time for Indonesia. We’ve been able to buy plane tickets. And perhaps most all, we are so thankful to the Lord that He has given us such great friends. We have been blessed, encouraged, and challenged by all of you so many times. Thank you for your partnership with us as we begin our journey to Indonesia!

Please continue to be praying for us in these next few weeks. All in all I think we’ve packed 8 bins, 4 big duffel bags & we’ll be flying for close to 30 hrs getting to Indonesia and then flying to a different island to check in with our visas before ever getting into our ‘new’ home in Salatiga, Indonesia.

I can't believe you guys are going to be missionaries to Indonesia. Seems like not that long ago we were dying our hair together, Ruth, and Ben and Chris were playing soccer together. It's been so awesome to watch your family grow, and meet most of it, and to watch as you prepare for this day. We'll be praying for safe travels and patience for both you guys and the girls. Thirty+ hours is a long time to go in a cramped space. Love in Christ, Julie

Hey guys. I'm thinking and praying for you. I will never forget the day we left. It was honestly very emotional and sad. It was that way for awhile too when I was in the country. But looking at what God has done in a year and a half, I'm amazed at his grace and provision in my life. We've made so many friends, learned a lot of the language and made this place a home. You'll do the same. If the first months are really hard, trust me it gets better. Always rely on him and I'll be praying for you.

Love,
Michelle Robinson

Just a reminder let us know which is worse with children. The long flight or the drive across the USA. I have my ideas but knowing your thought will help us when it's our turn. Praying for you!
