Merry Christmas – The Good News & The Bad News…

This year has all been very ‘New’ for us in living in the foreign land of Indonesia. This year is the first year we’ve lived in Indonesia and the first year with celebrating Christmas alone. The ‘good news’ is that Ruth is pregnant and has been for a little over a month now. We’re really exited to have another baby! We’ve been talking about coming home to the States this summer and having the baby while getting to visit with Ruth’s sister and family in New Hampshire after visiting Ben’s family and friends in California. The ‘bad news’ is that last night Ruth started to spot blood. We knew this might mean our baby was in trouble so after getting some advise we decided it would be best if Ruth was on ‘bed rest’ for all of Christmas day. We were really bummed that this was all happening on Christmas day but we’ve managed to get through it with bitter sweet feelings. Ben finished the quiche this morning and did the entire Christmas meal: Roast chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy and a nice salad. Ben brought every thing into the bed room and told the Christmas story to the girls. We had a nice family time together for most of the day. Although, unfortunately even with Ruth being on ‘bed rest’ and taking it easy for the whole day her bleeding has only gotten worse and she has had some cramping.

We share all this with you because you are our team! We share with you our prayer requests in our moments of weaknesses, but look forward for God’s healing to enable us to continue on with the difficult tasks that are before us daily.

Right now our big prayer request is that Ruth’s body wouldn’t reject this baby. But if the Lord sees fit to allow this to happen, our prayer is that God would use this in our lives and begin to heal our family from the loss.

We definitely appreciate you and your prayers for this need. We'll try to update again soon.
