Waiting on the Lord & Preparing to Go!

Waiting on the Lord & Preparing to Go!
_________________________________________________
God’s love for His creation is SO great I think we have a hard time comprehending it! “For God SO loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (Jh. 3:16). “The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting ANYONE to perish, but everyone to come to repentance” (2Pt 3:9). Thinking about these things Ruth & I believe that there are only 2 types of Christians: There are goers & there are senders, for God wants all His children to be apart of spreading the good news of Christ. With this in mind we have decided to go!

As many of you know we finished the New Tribes training in June of last year and we have traveled all over the country saying goodbye to friends & loved ones. During this time we’ve also been trying to buy some things necessary for us to live in Indonesia. If you would like to help in buying these things click the ‘practical needs list’ button on the side bar of our website. One strategic thing we’ve bought for the girls is a cottage play tent (top left picture). The girls LOVE this tent and the whole thing packs up into a little bag, we hope little things like this will help make the ‘BIG’ move a little easer on all of us!

I was able to go and visit Indonesia this past summer for 3 weeks (top right picture). I was also able to visit some remote tribal groups and see where we’re going to be living for 18 months while learning Indonesian before starting a remote church plant. When I was there I met the founder of the work with NTM in Indonesia. He asked me how our ‘support base’ was doing? Not really sure what he meant I said “we just finished school and don’t have much financial support.” He said he wasn’t talking about money. He knows God will provide in ways that only God can. When he was talking about ‘Support Base’ he was trying to encourage us in that we need a body of people back home who pray for us, keep up with us, write us, and genuinely just care for us and the ministry we’re apart of. For that ‘support base’ is what will keep us on the mission field more then almost anything else!

So for the past 8 months we have been sharing our ‘upcoming ministry’ to churches, youth groups & Bible studies (top middle picture). During this time we’ve seen God build our ‘support base’ and even though it feels slow at times it been fun & exiting to see people partner with us in reaching the LOST!

Please be praying for as we prepare to move to Indonesia in April! We still have a lot to do before we leave. Our visas are in process with the Indonesian government. Please pray that they will be accepted soon so that we can have a departure date & buy plane tickets! We are waiting and watching to see God provide a continued increase in our monthly financial support. We are at 36% of our support raising which is only 1/2 of what is needed for bare minimum monthly living expenses in Indonesia. We appreciate your partnering with us, thank you so much for your prayers!

We’d like to close with a quote from Oswald Chambers.
GOD DID NOT DIRECT HIS CALL to Isaiah - Isaiah overheard God saying, “…who will go for Us?” The call of God is not just for a select few but for everyone. Whether I heard God’s call or not depends on the condition of my ears, and exactly what I heard depends upon my spiritual attitude. “Many are called, but few are chosen” (Mat. 22:14). That is, few prove that they are the chosen ones. The chosen ones are those who have come into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ and have had their spiritual condition changed and their ears opened. Then they hear “the voice of the Lord” continually asking, “…who will go for Us?” However, God doesn’t single out someone and say, “Now, you go”. He did not force His will on Isaiah. Isaiah was in the presence of God, and he overhead the call. His response, performed in complete freedom, could only be to say, “Here am I! Send me.”
