Community Participation & Relationship Development

When the local police found a “grow-op” of about 10,000 plants of marijuana that was more than they could harvest alone, they came calling. Fifteen of our staff & students who were sworn in as deputies and worked to bring in the $11,000,000.00 of the illegal plant (and yes, I was one of them!!!!).

Needing to destroy it, they heaped it up in a pile and the whole lot went up in smoke. The police board and town council were thankful for New Tribes Mission of Canada’s help in the assistance in a crisis situation.

We believe it is important that we help our community, even as we help each other: “The whole body, fitted together and compacted by that which every ‘joint’ supplies…”
